Millway Motorsport offers different camber plate designs for the BMW E36 M3, E46 M3 and E90/E92/E93 M3. They are not interchangeable just because they all offer additional negative camber. The right part depends on your chassis, spring arrangement and damper hardware, as well as whether the car is primarily used on the road or at track days.

BMW E36 M3: Millway adjustable camber and caster plates

The E36 M3 is a popular platform for fast-road and track-day builds, but the correct camber top mount must suit the strut and spring arrangement already fitted to the car. The Millway 90346-E36 family offers adjustable camber/caster top mounts with different spring-platform configurations. A setup designed around the factory-diameter spring is not necessarily compatible with a 60mm or 65mm race spring without different hardware.
Owners also need to check the diameter and shape of the damper shaft and associated spacer or bearing hardware. This is particularly important when a previous owner has installed aftermarket coilovers.

BMW E46 M3: Millway 90352 camber and caster plates

The E46 M3 uses its own front strut and top-mount arrangement. Millway's 90352 adjustable plates are intended to provide a useful range of camber and caster adjustment for compatible standard-format and aftermarket suspension setups. Millway also offers separate spring and motorsport damper configurations, so the label “E46 M3 camber plates” does not tell the whole fitment story.
For a track-focused E46, more front camber can help the tyre work more evenly under sustained cornering load when combined with an appropriate alignment. That does not mean maximum negative camber is automatically correct. A qualified alignment specialist should set the final values around tyres, ride height and road use.

BMW E92 M3 and E82 1M: check the spring platform first

For the E90, E92 and E93 M3 and the E82 1M, Millway provides camber/caster plates for different spring-seat arrangements. Nineteen72 lists an OEM-spring application and a separate 60mm race-spring option. These are not simply interchangeable names for the same fitting configuration.
A 1M, E92 M3 on factory springs and an E92 M3 on a coilover with race springs may need different parts even though they share a broad product family. Before selecting a variation, identify the dampers, spring diameter, front-mount hardware and any previous suspension modifications.

Should I fit adjustable plates on a road car?
Extra negative camber can be beneficial for cars that see regular circuit use or run tyres that need more support in corners. The trade-offs depend on the bearing design and setup. Firmer motorsport mountings can introduce more noise and vibration, while changing front camber generally requires a subsequent check of toe. Correctly specified hardware and a good alignment are more valuable than chasing an arbitrary extreme setting.
Checklist before you order Millway top mounts
- Confirm the chassis: E36 M3, E46 M3 and E9X M3 are different applications; an E82 1M is not a non-M 1 Series.
- Identify the suspension: factory struts, lowering springs, road coilovers and race dampers can require different spring-seat or bearing hardware.
- Measure the spring platform: factory-diameter and 60mm race springs use distinct mounting arrangements.
- Check the damper top shaft: confirm the bearing sleeve, spacers, diameter and thread dimensions.
- Plan installation and alignment: suspension top mounts are safety-critical. Have the correct fixing torque and geometry confirmed by a qualified technician.
Common questions
Will E46 M3 camber plates fit an E36 M3?
No, do not assume so. The chassis and top-mount mounting arrangements differ. Select the Millway part number for your exact vehicle and suspension setup.
Will changing front camber also affect toe?
It can, which is why a front alignment should follow camber-plate installation or adjustment.
Which version is best for track days?
Choose based on chassis fitment, tyre and damper specification, and how much road refinement you need to retain. The correct part and measured alignment are more important than a generic “race” label.
Does a 60mm race-spring camber plate work with factory springs?
Not without the correct compatible spring hardware. Order the top-mount configuration that matches the actual spring seat, damper shaft and manufacturer's installation instructions.
