Prepare the engine oil service for the 3.0-litre B58 Z4 G29 M40i with seven litres of Motul Eco-Clean 0W-20, BMW Longlife-17 FE+ approved, and the listed Genuine BMW filter and new drain plug. The sDrive20i/30i B48 oil-service package is listed separately.

Oil quantity and specification

7 litres supplied in sealed retail bottles (5L + 2 × 1L). BMW publishes an oil-change quantity of 6.5 litres for this engine in the G29. The remaining oil can be retained for top-ups; fill to the vehicle's measured level and BMW service procedure, rather than pouring in the entire package. Use this oil option only where the vehicle handbook/under-bonnet specification permits BMW Longlife-17 FE+ 0W-20.

Vehicle fitment

For UK/EU BMW Z4 G29 M40i, 3.0-litre B58 (B58C/B58D), with the original factory airbox, oil-filter housing and sump. Confirm the VIN, production details and current BMW part references before ordering. This kit uses six spark plugs in the major version; sDrive20i/sDrive30i have separate B48 kits.

Service scope

The minor package supplies the engine oil, oil-filter set and new drain plug for an oil-and-filter service. Air filter, cabin filter and spark plugs are available in the separate major kit. Service timing follows your BMW Condition Based Service schedule and the individual jobs due. Brake fluid, coolant, gearbox/differential fluids, wipers, labour and service reset are separate.

Why is this separate from the Z4 sDrive20i/30i kit?

The M40i uses the six-cylinder B58 and its listed oil-filter application. Seven litres are supplied against the stated 6.5-litre service figure; the B48 sDrive20i/30i has a separate six-litre package.

What does this minor service package leave out?

The minor package supplies the engine oil, oil-filter set and drain hardware listed above. Spark plugs, engine air filters and cabin filters are separate service parts; check the exact contents and application on the related major listing.
