Description
Tie Rod Ends Bumpsteer Adjustable for BMW E9X/E8X
Lowering a performance car changes the relationship between steering-arm angle and suspension travel. Adjustable tie rod ends can be part of a carefully measured bump-steer correction strategy.
The SPL Parts Tie Rod Ends Bumpsteer Adjustable is specified for BMW E9X/E8X applications. It is a purpose-selected chassis upgrade for owners aiming to make accurate suspension settings rather than relying on extra lowering alone.
Key benefits
- Provide an adjustable steering-link solution for correcting bump steer on suitable lowered chassis.
- Help manage toe change through suspension travel.
- A full alignment and bump-steer check should follow installation.
Vehicle fitment
BMW applications: 1 Series, 3 Series; chassis E81, E82, E87, E88, E90, E91, E92, E93. Confirm exact model year, OE suspension equipment and drivetrain before ordering.
Geometry components should be installed using the manufacturer's instructions and followed by a professional four-wheel alignment. Track settings should be chosen for the car's tyres, ride height and intended use.

SPL Parts FAQs
Everything you need to know about SPL adjustable suspension components, BMW and Porsche fitment, fitting and alignment. Questions about a specific part? Our UK team can help you select the correct manufacturer SKU.
Will this SPL Parts component fit my BMW or Porsche?
Fitment depends on the exact chassis, model, model year, drivetrain and suspension package. Check the vehicle application and SPL manufacturer SKU shown above. M and non-M BMW models may use different parts, and Porsche GT versions often have different suspension arrangements. Contact us with your vehicle details if anything is unclear.
Are BMW M, non-M and xDrive suspension components interchangeable?
No. Some SPL kits are specific to M vehicles or rear-wheel-drive models, while others have dedicated xDrive versions. Do not use a part purely because the chassis family looks similar. Verify the complete SPL part number against your exact model and drivetrain before ordering.
Do the SPL 981 and 982 rear lower control arm kits fit Cayman GT4?
No. SPL specifically excludes Cayman GT4 fitment for the SPL-RLCA-981 and SPL-RLCA-982 rear lower control arm kits. Other GT4, GT4 RS and Spyder applications must be assessed separately using the correct manufacturer part number. We can help identify a suitable alternative.
What do adjustable rear toe links and eccentric lockout kits do?
Adjustable toe links increase the usable rear toe adjustment range. An eccentric lockout replaces a compatible factory eccentric adjustment location so the setting is controlled by the adjustable link. They are often used together when lowering a car or pursuing more precise track geometry. Only install a lockout with the intended compatible components.
Will SPL camber arms and control arms improve track handling?
Adjustable suspension arms can help achieve camber, toe or roll-centre targets that the factory hardware cannot provide, particularly after lowering. The benefit depends on the vehicle, tyres, setup and chosen alignment. Increased adjustability does not automatically mean that more negative camber or a more aggressive setting is better.
What do SPL tension rods and caster bushings change?
These components can reduce unwanted compliance at the front axle and, on adjustable versions, provide extra scope to tune caster. This can influence steering response, stability under braking and steering self-centring. Confirm the exact application, bearing design and any xDrive exclusions before selecting a kit.
Do I need adjustable tie rod ends to correct bump steer?
Only if a measured geometry issue justifies them. Bump steer is toe change during bump and rebound. Lowering can change steering-link angles, but the correct adjustment requires measurement through suspension travel. Use the part that matches your steering arrangement and have it set up by a competent alignment specialist.
Are SPL monoball and spherical joint components suitable for daily driving?
Some may be suitable for road-focused builds, but spherical joints can transmit more noise, vibration and harshness than factory rubber bushes and may require more inspection and maintenance. Consider comfort, durability and local road-use requirements as well as performance when choosing between an original-style bush and a motorsport-oriented joint.
Are SPL arms, links and lockout kits sold individually or as pairs?
Contents vary by manufacturer SKU. Certain links are sold as pairs or complete axle kits; others are individual components or lockout hardware. Use the What is included information in the product description and confirm any required spacers, bolts or joint hardware before booking fitting. Product photographs alone should not be used to determine kit contents.
Will I need a four-wheel alignment after fitting SPL suspension parts?
Yes. Adjustable arms, toe links, caster components and bush conversions can change wheel geometry. Professional installation, joint-angle and clearance checks, correct torque settings and a four-wheel alignment are essential. Track cars may also benefit from corner weighting and a setup check after initial use.
How is SPL Parts availability and delivery calculated?
Our SPL range is supplied through an external distributor, with stock updates linked to the Tegiwa feed by exact manufacturer SKU. Stock must not be assumed to be held at our workshop. If no confirmed supplier quantity or delivery estimate is displayed, contact Nineteen72 Performance for a current ETA before arranging installation or an event.
Can Nineteen72 help me plan a complete SPL suspension package?
Yes. Tell us your vehicle chassis, current dampers, ride height, tyres and road or track use. Explore our SPL Parts collection, BMW setup guide and Porsche setup guide before choosing complementary toe, camber, caster and end-link upgrades.
