Description

Bimecc copper wheel stud and nut conversion kit for Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, CUPRA and Škoda vehicles with M14×1.5 threaded, five-stud wheel hubs. Choose front and rear stud lengths separately to suit road, fast-road or track-day wheel setups.

Replace wheel bolts with permanently fitted Bimecc wheel studs and distinctive copper-coated, open-ended wheel nuts. The studs help guide wheels onto the hub during tyre changes and make fitting heavier wheels or hub-centric spacers easier.

What is included?

  • 20 Bimecc steel wheel studs, 10 front and 10 rear
  • 20 Bimecc copper-coated open-ended wheel nuts
  • M14×1.5 thread to suit compatible VAG wheel hubs
  • 60° conical nut seat and 19mm hex fitting
  • Independent front and rear stud length options

Important: This is the copper-nut conversion kit only. Threadlocker, installation tools and wheel spacers are not included. The copper finish is a coating on the nuts, not solid copper hardware.

Suitable vehicles and essential fitment checks

Designed for M14×1.5 five-stud hubs found on many modern VW Golf GTI/R, Audi A3/S3/RS3, SEAT Leon/CUPRA and Škoda Octavia vRS models, among other VAG cars. Compatibility depends on the exact hub thread, wheel design and seating profile, not the model name alone.

Check your wheel nut seat before ordering. This kit uses 60° conical-seat wheel nuts, typically used with compatible aftermarket wheels. Many genuine Volkswagen/Audi wheels use a ball/radius seat; these copper conical nuts must not be used with ball-seat wheels. Contact us to confirm an appropriate nut specification if you are retaining factory wheels.

Stud lengths: 68mm, 75mm, 82mm or 90mm

Length Starting-point guidance
68mm Standard wheel setup without spacers
75mm Without spacers or some setups using up to approximately 12mm spacers
82mm Some setups using up to approximately 19mm spacers
90mm Some setups using up to approximately 27mm spacers

These lengths are guidance rather than guaranteed spacer limits. Wheel mounting-face thickness, stud engagement into the hub, wheel nut engagement and thread protrusion must be checked on your actual setup. Different front and rear lengths can be selected.

Why choose a wheel stud conversion?

  • Faster, simpler wheel alignment during repeated wheel changes
  • Front/rear length flexibility for different spacer setups
  • Open nuts make the exposed stud length easier to inspect
  • Distinctive copper-coated finish with black wheel studs

Installation and wheel safety

Professional fitting is recommended. Clean and inspect the hub threads, use the correct threadlocking method specified for the chosen studs, confirm they do not bottom out, then torque the wheel nuts to the applicable vehicle/wheel specification. Re-check torque after initial use and after track sessions. Never substitute a conical nut for a ball-seat nut.

Frequently asked questions

Are the nuts solid copper?

No. The wheel nuts have a copper-coated finish; the stud conversion is not made from solid copper.

Will these fit my original VW or Audi wheels?

Only if the seat, hub thread and other dimensions match. Many original wheels use ball seats, while the nuts in this kit are 60° conical, so do not assume fitment.

Can I choose different lengths for front and rear?

Yes. Select one front stud length and one rear stud length from the available options.

Does the kit include spacers or fitting consumables?

No. Spacers, threadlocker and fitting tools are separate.

Can I use this for track days?

Correctly specified stud conversions are convenient for regular wheel changes. Fitment, maintenance and torque checks remain essential.

Wheel Spacer Questions Answered

Wheel spacers are one of the simplest ways to improve the stance, fitment and overall look of your car, but it’s important to choose the right size and type for your setup. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions we get about wheel spacers, including fitment, safety, handling, bolt length and whether they’re suitable for daily or track use.

Are wheel spacers safe?

Yes, when they’re fitted correctly. We always recommend using quality hub-centric spacers, the correct bolt length, and making sure everything is torqued properly. Cheap universal spacers or incorrect hardware are where people usually run into problems.

What size wheel spacers do I need?

It depends on the car, wheel size, offset and how aggressive you want the fitment to look. As a general rule, we suggest measuring the gap between the wheel and the arch first, rather than guessing. If you’re unsure, send us your car details and wheel specs and we’ll help point you in the right direction or checkout our guide here

Will wheel spacers affect the way my car drives?

A small spacer setup usually won’t cause any major issues, and many customers fit them purely to improve stance. Larger spacers can change the track width and steering feel slightly, so it’s worth choosing a sensible size for your setup.

Do I need longer wheel bolts with spacers?

In most cases, yes. If you’re fitting slip-on spacers, you’ll normally need longer bolts to match the spacer thickness. For bolt-on spacers, the spacer bolts to the hub first, then the wheel bolts to the spacer. Either way, the correct hardware is essential.

Can I use Bimecc wheel spacers on track?

Yes, provided they’re high-quality, hub-centric spacers and fitted correctly. For track use, we’d always recommend checking torque before and after sessions, and avoiding overly aggressive spacer sizes that could create rubbing or unnecessary load.

Will Bimecc wheel spacers make my wheels rub?

They can if the spacer size is too aggressive. Rubbing depends on ride height, tyre size, wheel offset and suspension setup. We always recommend checking clearance properly, especially if the car is lowered or running wider tyres.
